| Bulk and Special Orders Guidelines Valle Mimbres Market (VMM) members may place special orders for natural and organic items by any Friday for delivery the following Tuesday, except for the last week of the month. Special Orders for Health and Beauty Aids (HABA) coming from Frontier's Coop must be placed 7 days before the end of the month for delivery on the first Tuesday of the following month. Organic Produce Boxes Pre-orders A VMM member may pre-order boxes of assorted organic fruits and vegetables (OPAB). A choice of 2 different sizes is available: the large OPAB ($38.00 to $45.00) and the small OPAB ($25.00). Content of boxes will vary according to the season. Produce Boxes are available every week of the year. Orders for OPAB must be made by Thursday 6:00 PM by phone, by email or in person at the market and must be picked up at VMM the following Tuesday. Refrigerated, Frozen, or Grocery Pre-orders A VMM member may pre-order from our wholesalers as often as once a week, by placing an order from the Special Order price lists (available at the store) by phone, by email or in person at the market, by Thursday 6:00 PM to be picked up at VMM the following Tuesday. If unable to pick up the order on Tuesday, it can be picked-up during open hours on Thursday of the same week, provided no frozen or refrigerated items are part of the order. Special Pre-Orders offer savings from 10% to 30% off the retail price. The following choice of quantity is available for Special Orders: Bulk: Usually amounts of 10, 25 or 50 lbs such as grain, beans, cereals, nuts, seeds, pasta, salt and sweeteners. If a particular bulk item is too much volume for one member, there is a Split/Share * list available (see below). Case: Wholesale suppliers deal mostly with case amounts. For most items, a case will be 12 identical items, although it can be 4 (such as 4 gallons of liquids), 6, 24 or more. Orders for individual cases can be placed immediately. Members can also use the Split/Share * list if less than a case is needed. Partial Case: Should a product be available by the item rather than by the box, VMM asks that the member's order be a minimum of 3 of a kind (such as 3 boxes of XYZ cereals) with the exception of supplements and personal care items**. The wholesaler applies a surcharge for splitting case items, as a result the cost will be about 5 % higher than for a full case. Single item: Many of the Health and Beauty Aids** (supplements and personal care items) are available as single units through Frontier Natural Product Coop. Orders from Frontier are placed once a month, for pick-up the first Tuesday of the following month. * The Split/Share Request List: For less than the full bulk sack weight or for less than a case amount for those items that must be ordered by the case, member can submit their request on the Split/share list available by the register. Member must enter name, member number, kind and amount desired on the Split/Share form. As soon as the Split/Share items have reached the minimum ordering amount, such as 12 identical items or a 25 lbs bulk sack, these particular items will be ordered. **Taxable Items: Non-food items are taxable in New Mexico. A tax of 0.060625 % will be added to all non-food items. |
